Are you making the same mistake Deborah was? She changed it, and her complexion, in 90-Days.

Berrier,_Deborah_20131125_Overview_350_300_c1_c__1 To understand the effectiveness of the products, we looked at a number of factors in the 90-Day Challenge. First, throughout the challenge the participants were objectively evaluated by the Visia machine, which looked at their skin and produced the visual analysis shown on the left.
In addition to providing pictures that looked below the surface of the skin, the Visia gave a numeric analysis of skin attributes such as spots, wrinkles, texture, etc. The Visia percentages should be read like standardized test scores. They indicate how much better you are than your peers in a certain area. So an INCREASED percentage means a REDUCTION in the issue. Essentially, in her spots Deborah started off better than 60% of her peers, but ended up better than 68% of her peers. The rest of her results are listed below:
Spots 80% vs 92%
Wrinkles 38% vs 45%
Texture 63% vs 67%
Pores 49% vs 67%
UV Spots 77% vs 83%
Brown spots 87% vs 91%
Red areas 87% vs 89%
Analysis:
Deborah’s Visia pictures showed extreme improvement in a number of areas, she had a 12% improvement in spots in general, a 7% improvement in wrinkles, a 4% improvement in texture, an 18% improvement in pore size, a 6% improvement in UV spots, a 4% improvement in brown spots and a slight improvement in redness.
In addition to the numeric results, we considered the experience of the participant AND the trained eyes of our aestheticians. In many ways, these two factors are more important than the numbers. A person knows her own face better than a machine and her own experience of her face is the most important factor in her satisfaction.

What do you think of the changes in your skin?
I am very pleased with my improvements. I have very few spots on my face, so I did not witness a change in this area. But I can address pore size, wrinkles and texture of the skin. Prior to going on the 90-day challenge I used to scrub my skin relentlessly in an effort to achieve the results I wanted, specifically, smaller pores, improved texture and fewer wrinkles. I was lost in the sea of products advertising which promised great results in short time but did not deliver.
What made the 90-day challenge so unique is that my dermatologist sponsored the event so there was a greater trust factor. I knew, with absolute certainty, that Dr. Erickson would not recommend products and procedures unless they would be effective for me and I was reassured by the fact that she would be monitoring my progress. After the 90 days, I experienced a metamorphosis of my facial skin regarding the pores, wrinkles and skin texture. Before the challenge, I had a significant amount of wrinkles around my eyes and now you can barely see them. My pores have been reduced in size and number as well. My skin has a glow about it. I don’t know that I could be any happier with the results. The entire system has just worked perfectly for me.
What was your skin regimen before 90 day challenge, what is it like now?
Previously, I made an attempt at washing my face at night. If I was tired, forget it, I would use one of those pretreated cloths and call it a night. Because I was searching the sea of cosmetics for the products that yielded the results I wanted (and could never find), I was constantly changing up products. [Tweet this]
Now, my routine consists of using products that I love because I know they will keep my face looking great. For cleaning, I have two different washes; SkinMedica Facial Cleanser and D.A. Foamy Cleanser. I use D.A. Smart Triple Antioxidantas well as SkinMedica’s TNS Essential Serum, Retinol, TNS Eye repair, and TNS Ultimate Moisturizer and the Daily Physical Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen. Prior to the 90-day Challenge, I was not a sunscreen advocate because it was not a built-in piece of my skin care routine. I have been getting facials/peels on a regular basis. I consider myself quite lucky to have Amy as my aesthetician. She has provided me with lots of moral support, is a fabulous product/process coach and has a genuine interest in my success.
What was the hardest part of the challenge?
The hardest part was two fold; recognizing what I was doing wrong and confronting why it took me so long to take the necessary steps to make a change. The 90-day challenge was so simple; it eliminated any intimidation and took away all the guesswork regarding products/processes
What was the best part of the challenge?
Besides the obvious fact of achieving great looking skin, it gave me the impetus to look at new products and processes and understand how I could benefit from them. The challenge opened up my perspective– it broadened my world in that respect. It took me away from the non-derm products that weren’t doing me any good and put in the path of products that worked.
Have you met your skin goals? What do you imagine adding/changing in the future?
I have more than exceeded my skin goals and I believe both Dr. Erickson and Amy are largely responsible for how great my skin looks. Going forward I will continue to rely on Dr. Erickson’s expertise, continue with facials/peels from Amy and of course, continue using SkinMedica products.
On my wish list are Voluma, dermal filler and Botox as well as laser hair removal on my face. Once I have completed those, I will focus on improvements in my neck area.
I especially want to thank Dr. Forney. Without her support and commitment to her patients, this 90-day challenge would not happened. In a sense, she made everyone who participated in the challenge a winner.
