What is SmartLipo®?
SmartLipo® reduces fat deposits using a minimally-invasive technique. SmartLipo® is similar to conventional liposuction in the respect that it removes stubborn fat that is not responsive to diet or exercise. SmartLipo® uses the heat of a laser to melt pockets of fat before they are suctioned out.

SmartLipo® works by using energy from a laser to melt fat located beneath the skin’s surface. Laser energy is transmitted through a special device that is inserted into tiny incisions. The device is moved back and forth to deliver energy to the fat cells from the lasers in the device. The fat cells are melted with heat so that they may be suctioned out through the incisions. One of the main benefits of SmartLipo® is that, in addition to melting fat in specific areas, the treated areas are also cauterized in order to coagulate the blood vessels. There is less swelling, bleeding, and bruising than with traditional liposuction so that the recovery is much faster.
SmartLipo® helps eliminate fat deposits from any part of the body where it has accumulated. It allows our doctors precision control over both the amount and location of fat to be removed, creating a sculpting effect on the face and body.
Patients receiving SmartLipo® complain very little about pain but do mention a little discomfort when getting the local anesthetic to numb the area.
You should start seeing results immediately following your treatment with SmartLipo®. You may notice some swelling at the treatment sites for a few weeks following your procedure, so your results may not be completely evident until this swelling subsides.
SmartLipo® permanently removes fat cells in the targeted areas. It is important to live a healthy lifestyle with a proper diet and exercise plan in order to maintain the results of the procedure.
In most cases, one treatment is adequate; however, if patients have multiple areas to treat, they may require separate sessions so that there is adequate time to heal between treatments..
SmartLipo® is typically all that is needed but it may be combined with other treatments.
The price of your treatment will vary, depending upon your individual circumstances. Some patients require a more intense procedure than others. At Dermatology Affiliates, we accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards.
