Below is an image of what the Visia Skin Analysis is able to expose regarding the condition of your skin. (I am using my Visia pictures because we are not yet ready to reveal our participants’ results.)
You can see from the picture that the Visia machine is able to highlight six aspects of your skin’s appearance and wellness:
- Spots
- Wrinkles
- Texture
- Pores
- UV Spots (or sundamage)
- Porphyrins
You can see that next to each photo title there is a percentage. This percentage is your skin’s standardized test scores. The machine accounts for your age and skin type and then compares you to others in your group. Essentially, I have fewer spots than 62% or my peers, fewer wrinkles than 89% of my peers, my texture is better than 32% of my peers, I have fewer pores than 27% of my peers, I have less sun damage than 85% of my peers, and fewer porphyrins than 8% of my peers. Based on my results, my biggest skin issues are my porphyrins (bacterial secretions), pores, texture, and spots. For our 90-Day Challenge, the Visia skin analysis will be the tool that will evaluate which participant has seen the most changes and is therefore the “winner.”
Next is the fun part – products! After each participant completes their analysis the aesthetician goes through their products and fills out a sheet that helps them follow the skin care regimen.

This kit has a retail value of $1,026 and our participants got all of this for $570!

All of our aestheticians are very excited about the 90-Day Challenge. I spoke with Karen who said,
“I’m excited to see the transformation of skin in three months with just doing something that has very little downtime. As a registered dietitian, I love the science behind effectiveness and this situation provides proof and what feels like an in-house clinical trial. (Note: we are not suggesting that we are able to replicate the control or standards of an actual clinical trial.)
I also love getting to establish a one-on-one long-term experience with a patient’s overall approach to skin care. Often, patients come in and I make recommendations, but I don’t always get to see the follow-up or send them home with a complete protocol. I am really enjoying getting to see some of my favorite patients on a regular basis. It’s been great to be able to provide a clear cut structure for those patients that have a hard time even washing their face at night.
I feel like everyone is really motivated and excited by the “challenge” aspect of the project.
