Isolaz® Acne Removal Laser FAQs
The Isolaz® is engineered to treat any type of acne and clogged pores. It is great for blackheads and pimples. It can also help with hormonal-based acne or cystic acne. Or perhaps you are plagued by little bumps that reside just under the skin’s surface, the ones that neither go away nor actually turn into surface pimples. The Isolaz® can assist with all of these issues. Additionally, it can be applied to any area of the body, e.g. chest, arms, back, or any other problematic spots.
With the Isolaz® Acne laser, a vacuum-like suction pulls the skin to remove dirt, grime, and debris from the pores while a flash of light from the laser kills bacteria leaving pores clean and void of anything to cause acne. Additionally, active acne eruptions are treated during the treatment. Isolaz treatments require no anesthetic cream or any other intervention to prevent minimal discomfort. Patients return to their normal activities immediately following each treatment.
Treatment duration varies with most treatments taking between 45 minutes to an hour. It is best to plan on at least one hour in order to have sufficient time to prepare, check in, cleanse your face, and possibly take before treatment photos.
The Isolaz® Acne Laser is effective on all skin types and all skin colors. The treatments are also effective for most acne problems whether severe or an occasional breakout. It is important to note that patients taking Accutane® are not candidates for Isolaz® and must wait at least six months following the last dose to be treated.
The number of treatments required depends on several factors including the skin type, the severity of acne, and other conditions. During a consultation, one of our dermatologists can discuss the details of the treatment plan.
Most patients see an immediate visible improvement following the first treatment. It is necessary to adhere to the at-home treatment plan you receive in order to optimize the effectiveness of the Isolaz® treatment. You may experience mild redness in the treated area; however, this goes away within a few hours or a day and can be concealed with makeup if necessary.
A clinical study indicated that 100% of patients reported no pain during the treatment.
The cost of Isolaz® treatments vary with each patient and depend on the extent of the acne problem. During a consultation with one of our dermatologists, we can discuss the cost. Typically treatments with the Isolaz® laser are not covered by insurance
