What is Aesthetic Dermatology?
Aesthetic dermatology is a classification of innovative treatments that were developed specifically to improve your personal appearance rather than address a skin disorder or disease. Some of the specific services that we offer include:
Chemical peels are procedures in which a trained aesthetician uses an acid solution to chemically burn off damaged outer layers of skin, often using trichloroacetic acid (TCA), alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) or retinol, all of which are safe and effective. Chemical peels help to brighten your complexion and even skin tone.
Microdermabrasion, or microderm, as it is more commonly known, is a simple yet effective procedure designed to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, decrease the size of pores, minimize scarring, smooth skin, and in some cases help reduce some forms of hyperpigmentation such as freckles or age spots. Microderm treatments also help to make skin care products permeate the deeper layers of skin and promote the growth of collagen.
For our patients we offer a complimentary product consultation with our aestheticians. They will review all the products you are using and your current skin care regime and help to determine what if any changes you should make. We also carry a select number of high quality skin care products many of which are available only in dermatology offices.
VISIA® skin analysis are imaging sessions used to capture visual information in six key areas of your face. The VISIA® system provides a comparison of a patient's complexion with those of other people of the same gender, ethnicity, and age. The goal of this procedure is to record the condition of your skin and determine the best treatments and procedures to repair sun damage.
