Family and Interests
I grew up in the Antwerp region of Belgium. The country of chocolate, beer and fries...yes I love em all!
I was interested in the esthetics profession at a very young age, as I saw my mom having facials and even having a pedicurist come to our house monthly.
I began my education in esthetics during high school as is possible in Belgium. I completed a 3-year program at the Saint Elizabeth Institute, Merksem, Belgium, which included medical pedicure, manicure, facial esthetics, nutrition, massage and make up.
In 1985 I received an award for "Best Student of Belgium" in Esthetics. I have continued my education with courses in: acne treaments and bio-cosmetics at the Dr. Eckstein school of esthetics, Bleiswijk, The Netherlands. And later, modalities in esthetics and understanding cosmeceutical ingredients at the International Dermal Institute, Atlanta, Georgia.
I opened my first salon out of my parents home at age 18. I then moved into my own space one year later, where I was very successful that two years later I bought a salon called "Body Balance" in Sint Niklaas Belgium, where I combined esthetics treatments with a wellness/nutrition/exercise program in warm cabins and oxygen treatments, which is a Swiss program very effective for weight loss. I sold this business and emigrated to the USA for personal reasons.
Beginning in 1993, I worked for several prominent cosmetic companies at department stores in the Southeast as an esthetician performing facials.
In 2005 I chose a different path and opened The Roswell Teahouse in Roswell Georgia. After operating this business for 10 years, I was drawn back to my passion for skincare and decided to open "Bourgeois Skinmedics" in Atlanta, Georgia.
I am committed to finding and performing the best of what the industry has to offer in skincare.
