Theralight®

People in Buckhead, Midtown, and East Cobb, and serving the surrounding areas of Atlanta and Marietta, GA who suffer from vitiligo, psoriasis, and severe acne can seek treatment such as Theralight® from the board-certified dermatologists at Dermatology Affiliates.

What is Theralight®?

Theralight® is focused narrow band UVB therapy specifically developed to treat chronic skin conditions like vitiligo and psoriasis.

How Does Theralight® Work?

Theralight® works by emitting a single wavelength of narrowband, therapeutic 311 nm UVB light pulsed directly on affected areas of skin by a trained clinician. Without exposing normal skin to unnecessary UVB and assuring that all skin gets a full dose of light, the effects of chronic skin conditions like vitiligo and psoriasis, are diminished. This increases the safety and effectiveness of phototherapy for limited skin disease. A patient receiving Theralight® treatments requires three visits a week with each treatment lasting 20 to 30 minutes. It typically takes time to reverse the disease process and may take several weeks to months to clear the skin. Once clear, the number of treatments per week may be reduced in an attempt to put the condition into remission.

What is the Recovery Period with Theralight®?

With Theralight®, the side effects are minimal and usually only involve slight redness at the site of treatment. Patients can return to their daily activities immediately following the treatments.

How Much Does Theralight® Cost?

The cost of Theralight® depends on the condition and the extent of the skin disease. During a consultation with one of our dermatologists, we can discuss the cost with you as well as determine if your health insurance provides coverage for Theralight® as it is used to treat medical conditions.

How Do I Get Started with Theralight®?
