Biography
Dr. Erickson finds joy in helping people feel good, and she believes that can happen when skin is healthiest.

“People feel better when their skin is healthy, whether you’re one, 10 or 100 years old, and I love teaching patients how to take better care of their skin,” Dr. Erickson says. “The best part of what I do is seeing and caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds and being able to take care of everything from acne to skin cancer.”

It’s a calling she has had from early in her life.

“Diagnosing and treating skin cancer has been a particular interest of mine,” she says. “My grandmother passed from melanoma when I was a child, and I am dedicated to preventing this tragic disease and diagnosing it early before it spreads.”

Now she uses her skills to treat skin disease and help people have radiant skin. Doing so means using different treatments and techniques for each person. It’s how she uses both art and science to create beautiful skin.

“Everyone’s skin is different: color, texture, complexion, so I use my knowledge of the
science of skin to create individualized treatment regimens for each person,” she says. “The skin is my canvas, and medications, lasers and cosmetic treatments are my instruments to create the healthiest, most beautiful skin possible.”

To get the benefit of her experience, Dr. Erickson suggests that you ask questions.

“Don’t be afraid to ask me anything about your skin!” she says. “Even if you think it’s probably nothing, you’ll feel better if you leave knowing what it is. You see your skin everyday, so don’t be shy about sharing any changes.”

At the end of a day of helping patients, Dr. Erickson relaxes with a run.

“I look forward to my run at the end of the day when I have a chance to think back on my patients and all that I have learned from them,” she says. “It helps me unwind and prepare for tomorrow.”

Dr. Erickson has conducted detailed research and published a chapter in the well-respected Textbook of Cosmetic Dermatology, as well as numerous articles in top professional journals. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Atlanta Dermatological Association.
